THE 1963 ARRANGER’S HOLIDAY
Arranger’s Difficulties skit 1963
In 1963 the song, Moon River, was number 7 on the top 10 chart. It was, therefore, the perfect musical venue for illustrating the challenges faced by our young arranger, Tony Trebleclef, as he tries to meet the arrangement needs of four very different clients in this 1963 skit.
The first client is Monty Glacier, a frosty middle aged, “over 30” night club owner, the second is Jazzbo Hathaway, a young hippie musician, the third is a corn salesman from Des Moine, Iowa and the fourth is a hip sounding man who just wants something beautiful, but can’t define beautiful. However, ‘he’ll know it when he hears it.’
We regret we are unable to provide the name of the actor who plays Tony Trebleclef. All four of his clients, however, are played by Walter Dixon.
