Welcome to Walter Dixon & Company

While this website is still a work in progress, we wish to make it available now for the pleasure of our viewing audience. It was created by Sheron Dixon Wahl to bring to the general public the rich legacy of audio and video tapes from the library of Walter Dixon. They chronicle his long and fruitful career in radio and as a piano soloist. They include the many interesting people with whom he worked at WHAM and beyond, as a producer, director, on-air personality, actor and as a solo pianist.

His 20 years with WHAM are particularly notable for his many fine programs; The Time Between being just one of them.

His understanding of the news worthy importance of the Formula One races at Watkins Glen led him to create good news programming with his interviews of the world famous drivers who were competing there.

His close relationship with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and the Eastman School of Music allowed him to continue bringing to WHAM’s listening audience the good music programing for which WHAM had long been noted. We are so grateful for the legacy of recordings he left for the world to enjoy.
